Sue Belle (McLain) Nations, 71, went to be with the Lord on Sunday, March 3, 2019. She passed peacefully at home, surrounded by her loving family.

She will be remembered for her kind heart, strong faith, and beautiful singing voice.

Services were held on March 9 at Azle First Assembly of God, officiated by Tim Stevens and David McLain. A second service will be held at International Church of Nacogdoches on March 23 at 11 a.m. Her cremains will later be interred in the Walnut Grove Cemetery in Garrison, Texas.

Sue was born on a farm in Appleby, Texas, to Rufus Baine McLain and Ludy Ovilla (Stanaland) McLain, on October 3, 1947. After graduating from Garrison High School in 1966, she moved to Houston, returning to Appleby in the 1970s to attend beauty school and open her own hair salon. Sue moved to Azle in 1983, and later received a nursing degree from Tarrant County College. Her compassionate spirit led her to work with the elderly in nursing homes and hospice care. She was also an active member of Azle First Assembly of God church, where she taught Sunday school and sang in the choir for many years.

Sue is survived by her husband Larry Nations, her twin sister LaNelle Pinkston, and three brothers, James McLain, Ray McLain, and Chester McLain. She also leaves behind her children, Terry Sims, Dayna Sims Van Aken, and Tony Sims, step-children Sonya Nations, Kay Nations, and Jean Ann Nations (deceased), seven grandchildren, and four great-grandchildren.
