Springtown man dies after hit and run

Ernest Doniver Medley, 51, of Springtown, was struck by a drunk driver Wednesday, Jan. 8 about 9:30 p.m. at the 4200 block of E. Hwy. 199 in Reno.

Medley died upon impact at the shoulder of the roadway and was walking when he was struck.  

The driver, who has been identified as Kevin Scott Evans, 38, was arrested by Reno Police and charged for intoxication manslaughter with a vehicle. He was taken to Parker County Jail with bond set at $25,000.

Evans is the assistant principal at Boyd High School and has spent at least 15 years in education. He was formerly an assistant principal at Brewer High School in White Settlement ISD.

Boyd ISD administrators were made aware of Evans’ arrest. Abiding by district policy, Evans will be placed on administrative leave during the investigation.
