Kodi Renner, 15, of Azle, was last seen Aug. 25 at her home.

An Azle teenager who ran away from home on Aug. 25 has still not been found.

According to the National Center for Missing and Exploited Children’s website, 15-year-old Kodi Rener was reported missing on Aug. 25, when she was last seen at her home in Azle.

As of press time Tuesday, Rener was unaccounted for.

Rener is white, 5-7, 170 pounds with hazel eyes and brown hair that could have been dyed burgundy since she was last seen, according to

While Parker County Sheriff’s Office spokesperson Danie Huffman said the department had received a report of a missing person from the Azle area on Aug. 25, they could not confirm it was Rener or give any other information because the person involved is a juvenile, citing the Texas Family Code.

“In accordance with the Texas Family Code, we do not typically release information regarding juveniles,” Huffman said. “I can only tell you that a juvenile female was reported missing from the Azle area on Aug. 25.”

Kodi’s grandmother and guardian, Lisa Wood Rener, said that Kodi was a new student at Azle High School, was applying for a new job at Red’s Burger House, and was happily active in church before she ran away.

Kodi has run away from other homes before, Rener said, but she was surprised by Kodi’s disappearance in the early hours of Aug. 25 because things generally seemed to be going well for the teen, despite some issues with school and work.

“We had a conversation not too long ago where she told me she just wanted to be a normal teenager,” Rener said.

“She’s run away from other places before, but we really thought she was on the road to something normal here.”

“We are very worried about her,” Rener said.

“We ask that if anyone knows anything concerning her whereabouts, please message me on Facebook or call the Parker County Sheriff’s Office.”
