Larry Neal Nations, 71, went to be with the Lord on Friday, May 3, 2019.

A beloved father, grandfather, uncle, brother-in-law, and friend, he will be remembered for his warm smile, strong faith, selfless generosity, and devotion to his wife.

Services will be held on Saturday, May 11, at 1 p.m. at Azle First Assembly of God, officiated by Pastor Tim Stevens. His cremains will later be interred alongside his wife’s at Walnut Grove Cemetery in Garrison, Texas.

Larry was born in Houston, Texas, to Alvie Lamar Nations and Bernie Louise (Kruse) Nations, on January 24, 1948. His father, brother, and sister all passed away when Larry was a small child, and he and his mother moved to live with relatives in Garrison.

In 1980 he met Sue Belle (McLain) Nations, his wife of 37 years. Already the parents of six children between them, the newlyweds moved to Azle in 1983. Larry worked as an electrician before joining his brother-in-law as a truck driver for a mobile home company.

He was also an active member of Azle First Assembly of God church, where he served as head deacon.

In his final years, Larry cared for his wife through multiple strokes and dementia. He promised to never leave her side, and he kept that promise until she passed away at home just two months ago on March 3, 2019.

Larry is survived by his children, Sonya (Nations) Pinkston, Kay (Nations) Boller, and Jean Ann Nations (deceased), stepchildren Terry Sims, Dayna Sims Van Aken, and Tony Sims, seven grandchildren, four great-grandchildren, and numerous nieces and nephews.
