John was born on November 12, 1931 in Council Bluffs, Iowa. He and Marelda moved from Amarillo to Azle to be close to family.

John was a wonderful man who loved and cared deeply for his family and friends. He never met a stranger and would lend a helping hand whenever needed. He will be remembered by his family, neighbors, church family, and friends as a kind and considerate man who was a shining example of his Lord, Jesus Christ.

He is survived by his wife, Marelda Adams; stepsons Bill (Laura) Still of Lake Worth, Danny (Lisa) Still of Azle; and stepdaughter Sue Gibson of Fort Worth; five grandchildren and fifteen great-grandchildren.
