Bettye Warren-Black

Bettye passed peacefully from this earthly life surrounded by her loved ones on Wednesday, Dec. 26, 2018.

Her memorial service was Dec. 29, 2018 at 3 p.m. at the First United Methodist Church of Azle, 200 Church Street, Azle, Texas 76020.

Bettye was born in July of 1930 in Satartia, Mississippi to Benjamin A. Warren and Mabel G. Warren. Bettye is a graduate of Satartia High School. After high school Bettye went to work for Southern Bell in Yazoo City, Mississippi. Eventually Bettye moved to Texas and continued to work for the phone company. Bettye was a member of the Communication Workers of America and an officer of the Telco Credit Union.

Bettye loved to travel around the United States; she fell in love with Jackson Hole, Wyoming. Bettye was the pillar of the family. She cared for her family immensely. She was a wonderful wife, mother, sister, and grandmother.

Bettye was a woman of faith and was dedicated to her family. She was admired for her strong spirit and will.

Bettye was preceded in death by her parents and her six siblings.

Bettye is survived by her husband, James Black, daughter, Sharon Diodato and husband, Lance; step-daughter, Donna Black-Collins; sister, Kathy NeSmith and husband, Glen; grandchildren: Chris and Nick Sanders, Kathleen and Louis Diodato, Clifton and Shelby Collins.
