Three-star recruit and Azle High receiver, Eric McAlister Jr. made his division one dreams a reality two weeks ago (Dec. 16) as he signed a football scholarship to attend Boise State, where he’ll suit up for the Broncos next fall.
Coming in to the area round of the UIL football Class 5A playoffs, Lubbock Coronado looked like an offensive juggernaut that was on a collision course with Azle High.
The Azle Hornets boys’ basketball team has had an up and down start to the 2020 season and after going 1-1 two weeks ago on the road, the team returned home last Tuesday night.
After being off for just under a week, the Azle boys’ basketball team played a two-game slate over the weekend going 1-1 on the road last Friday and Saturday.
It’s been just over two weeks since the Azle High girls’ basketball team was on the floor and they returned with a bang on Saturday, beating Saginaw 59-38.
Azle High’s football team has advanced to the UIL area round of the class 5A Div. 1 playoffs. They’ll be heading off to Lubbock to make their attempt at beating one of the states only undefeated teams left (Lubbock Coronado). The game is scheduled for 3 p.m. Saturday. It was the second time the Azle Christian football team got to face Harvest Christian – the only team to beat them during the regular season – but unfortunately for the Crusaders it was also the second time they would lose.
After a 1-2 start to open the season, the Azle Hornets boys basketball team went 2-0 this past weekend with home non-district wins over Bridgeport 56-43 on Friday and a come-from-behind effort 58-57 over Ponder on Saturday.
