Ervin Robinson failed to show up for work after Memorial Day for pretty much the first time in two decades.
His employer was worried. Michael and Traci Wright, sone and daughter-in-law of the owner of TJ Machine and Tool on West Main in Azle, reported to Azle police that he seemed to be missing on June 16, after he had missed two weeks of work without contacting them.
Eventually, the case came to the attention of Pelican Bay police. Robinson was a resident of Pelican Bay, owner of a home on Pelican Court. The Wrights have now posted a reward of $2,500 for information that leads to the location of Robinson. Traci Wright said the reward is “for information to a law enforcement agency which leads to confirmed information about the location, disappearance, and/or contact of Ervin Robinson.”
The couple will pay the reward “once the information is verified as a solid, legitimate lead by the police,” she said. Pelican Bay Chief of Police Gilbert Towns, in the meantime, called in the Texas Rangers early in July, shortly after Robinson’s sister, Sheila Downey of Reno, reported him missing to that department. Adults have the right to leave without telling anyone, Azle police officials said when contacted last month. Both Azle and Pelican Bay investigators have talked to Robinson’s current wife, who said she never reported him missing because “everyone else already had.” Towns said he and the Rangers have some “interesting leads” but still need to find Robinson.
